Nintendo have announced that the Wii will see a price drop in both the US and Japan by 20%. This is due to the downturn in sales this year compared to last.

Last year the Wii sold 5.17m between April and June however this has dropped to 2.23m units, more than half the number.

The trade price of the Wii will also drop in the UK and Ireland but the actual sale price will be up to the retailers themselves.
